Charlie Edwards, 17, and Daniel Hollingworth, 18, both spoke, and they urged world leaders to act now to ensure the youth of today have a future for tomorrow.

‘It’s our planet and our lives. I don’t want my kids to grow up not knowing what a frog is,’ said Mr Edwards.

‘We need action now. We can do it now, so we should.’

Mr Hollingworth said corporations were one of the biggest contributors to emissions and climate change, and he urged the Guernsey public to put pressure on leaders and politicians for greater change and accountability.

‘In 50 years, if nothing changes, our island will be under water,’ he said.

‘My challenge to everyone is to take one thing out of your lives to reduce your impact on the planet. Actions speak louder than words.’
