Starting from tomorrow to Sunday 5 June, the festival boasts 50 guided walks over 16 days, ranging from easy ambles to longer hikes.

‘We’re very excited for this year’s festival as we are including 11 brand new walks,’ said organiser Carla Bauer.

‘People seem to be showing interest and I believe they have been in contact with the guides directly to make bookings.

The Bailiwick of Guernsey Guild of Accredited Guides, which is hosting the event, has over 60 experienced guides with their own speciality areas. Tours range in time of day, length, ability and even which island within the Bailiwick they take place on, with tours offered in Guernsey, Lihou, Herm and Sark. Last year, 388 visitors and residents joined in with the autumn walking festival.

‘During the past few years when we’ve had restricted travel, we haven’t actually seen a decline in participant numbers as more residents were involved, which is great to see,’ said Ms Bauer.

‘It’s a fantastic time to get out and about to explore and discover what the island has to offer.’

Numbers are limited and so booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
