Events for the Platinum Jubilee Weekend

Historic sites free entry all day, 10am-4pm. Castle Cornet, Fort Grey, Guernsey Museum and German Naval Signals HQ, with a 21-gun salute from Castle Cornet, in honour of Her Majesty the Queen, at midday.

10am: The Guernsey Yacht Club presents a Sail Past at Castle Cornet. Motor yachts, sailing yachts and RIBS will congregate in the Little Russel, bedecked in flags and make their way past the Castle to Fermain and back. Decorated sailing dinghies, rowing boats and junior sailors will also be joining in.

The Platinum Jubilee beacon lighting at Castle Cornet will be live-streamed on the Jubilee website page (www.platinumjubilee.gg) and the Culture & Heritage Facebook page from 9.30pm.

Platinum Jubilee exhibition at Forest Parish Church until Sunday from 9.30am-5pm every day. Artwork by Le Rondin and Forest Primary School pupils, floral displays and decorations. Special commemorative booklet for the first 50 visitors and entry is free.

St Peter Port fun day at Cambridge Park 12-4pm, with food, refreshments, children’s entertainment and a ‘Hat fit for a Queen’ competition.

Torteval Church service to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee at 2.30pm, followed by a Bring and Share afternoon tea at 3pm in grounds of the church (if wet will be in parish hall). Everyone welcome to both or either.

St Saviour’s Church tea party, celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee from 3-5pm in the church. All welcome. Church open daily from today until Sunday for the Jubilee Flower Festival.

St Martin’s beacon lighting 8.30-9.45pm with jazz music, pipes and drums with beacon being lit at Jerbourg at 9.45pm

TOMORROW

Vale and St Sampson’s Jubilee Jamboree on L’Islet common, 11am-6pm. From sand castles, carriage decorating and cake competitions to live music and a beer tent. Free bouncy castles for children as well as face painting, charity stalls, classic cars and a visit from the Guernsey Fire & Rescue. At 11am the Vale Church bell will ring for 40 minutes in commemoration of Her Majesty’s Coronation and at 5pm God Save the Queen will be sung followed by a presentation of prizes.

SATURDAY

Unveiling of plaque for Jubilee tree, 4pm at Forest Parish Cemetery (secular).

Platinum Jubilee Fete in grounds of Government House, 3 – 10.30pm.

From 3-5.30pm an afternoon of family entertainment with children’s activities, live music and entertainment, food, soft drinks and a Jubilee tea tent. From 5.30pm the evening is a free ticketed event. Tickets available from www.guernseytickets.gg on a first come first serve basis. For full details go to www.platinumjubilee.gg

The Big St Peter’s Platinum Jubilee Tea Party, 2-5pm at Les Buttes. 3pm Jubilee Hat Parade with £25 prizes for five age groups. Live Music. Bring and share food. Hot drinks provided. Big plant sale, games. Party like it’s 1952.

SUNDAY

Arts Sunday Platinum Jubilee celebration in Town, 10am-5pm, bringing together the music, artistic and creative community. With three stages of music, dance and theatre, an arts and crafts market of over 100 stalls and including music and poetry in the Town Church. The day is inclusive, fun, free and for everyone.
