Dresses set to impress at annual fashion show auction
MODELS are preparing for the catwalk as Autism Guernsey’s annual fashion show and auction looms.
Eight models will be showcasing 32 outfits, which will be auctioned at the end of the night to contribute to one of Autism Guernsey’s biggest annual fundraisers.
‘We have hundreds of pieces for sale and auction on the night,’ said Mandy Rowlinson, fundraising officer for Autism Guernsey.
‘The clothes range from size six to size 26 and we have an entire six foot rail of size 20 clothes to be as inclusive of as many clothes sizes as possible.
'The models also range from clothing size eight to size 20.’
The fashion show outfits each include clothing, shoes, accessories and bags – all of which have been donated by islanders.
Each model will walk in four outfits to cover the themes of day wear, evening wear, wedding and summer ball.
Mrs Rowlinson has worked together with the models to create the outfits and this is the sixth year that she has been involved in the fashion show.
‘Each year it just gets better and better,’ she said.
‘Last year we raised just under £5,000 in profit, and so this year I’m really hoping we can get that over the £5,000 mark.’
The outfits worn in the show will be sold as a whole, however other pieces can be purchased separately.
Autism Guernsey is still accepting clothing and raffle donations. All donations must be of a high quality.
n The fashion show takes place on Wednesday 22 June at 7pm at St Pierre Park Hotel.
