New-look La Vallette gets a ‘soft’ opening
BUILDERS are almost finished at La Vallette, as the area beside the bathing pools had a soft opening over the Jubilee weekend.
Community lead of Vive La Vallette, Helen Bonner-Morgan, said the pools were starting to welcome visitors again.
The cafe at the site opened last week, and is already proving a hit with customers.
‘The weekend went really well and all feedback has been great following the opening of the cafe,’ she said.
‘It’s nice to be able to serve hot drinks to people who visit now.’
The cafe includes outdoor seating, and a series of large steps are intended to be used for seating. There is an accessible ramp next to the large steps for the visitors to the cafe.
With the La Vallette project close to completion, Mrs Bonner-Morgan said that there were additional railings to be installed and some work to the upper pavilion on the top level to be done.
La Vallette has been ‘softly’ opened for now, however there will be an official opening when all is completed.
