The road beside Vale Church has been shut by Guernsey Electricity since the start of May, creating traffic problems in the area.

It had been due to reopen on 21 June.

‘I’m pleased to share that we have completed the work at L’Abbaye and we are ready to open the road 11 days early,’ said Guernsey Electricity head of distribution Mike Lloyd.

‘I’d like to thank my team and our contractor, Trant, for doing a great job and working with other utilities and homeowners to coordinate works to reduce the disruption.

‘While road closures are frustrating, this new substation is an important part of the investment in our infrastructure and is designed to future proof our electricity network.’

The road is expected to reopen at 5pm.
