Scott named in England U19 Euro squad

Guernsey star Alex Scott is set to represent England at this month's Uefa U19 Euro finals after being named in a 21-man Young Lions squad for Slovakia.

His first major international tournament, Scott and England face Austria in their opening game on Sunday, with matches against Serbia and Israel to come in the group stage.

Scott is one of just three players selected from outside top-flight football and will play alongside rising talents from the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea.

"This group of players have a real togetherness and that will be invaluable for us in this tournament. We know that if we play to our potential that we will give ourselves every opportunity to make this EUROs a truly memorable one", said head coach Ian Foster.

All three group games kick-off at 7pm BST and will be screened in the UK on BBC iPlayer:

  • Sunday 19 June: England v Austria

  • Wednesday 22 June: England v Serbia

  • Saturday 25 June: Israel
