The event is in its second week, with music taking place across Town from 10am to 3.30pm.

Jacob Wright performed a variety of classical pieces on the violin at the festival.

‘I got involved with the street festival through the close music community in Guernsey.

‘The organiser of the festival Claire Dawson encouraged me to go for an audition, and I was selected to be one of the performers,’ he said.

‘I have just finished my first year at the Royal Northern College of Music, so it is always good to come back to the island and play new pieces.’

Mr Wright has been learning the violin since he was in Year 2, and has been involved with the Guernsey Music Service since a young age.

He participates in various string quartets, trios, and duets.

‘The open-air performances are able to bring everyone together.

‘It is also really fun to expose people to all different types of music. The weather has been great, as well.’

Jacob will be performing outside Creasey’s today between 10.30am and 11.30am and at the market between 2pm and 3pm.
