‘Most of us are at a certain age that we probably wouldn’t play regular netball again and a lot of us haven’t played since school days.

‘Some are recovering from injury or have hidden disabilities that prevent more active playing, although we are more active than any of us thought possible.

‘Walking Netball is run every Sunday as part of a scheme to encourage activity. The scheme relies on people like Jane, who gives up her precious time.

‘She motivates us to be better players than we ever thought possible.

‘Jane has moulded us from complete novices at Walking Netball to a group that can get stuck into a game.

‘We’ve had a few injuries along the way, which Jane has dealt with professionally and calmly.

‘Jane has the patience of a saint as Sunday morning brain-fog tends to descend most weeks and we struggle with following the simplest of instructions in our training. But most of all we have a laugh, we move more, we have gelled as a group, and it’s thanks to her.’
