Jade Duquemin, 26, started her TikTok account, @misscommitedofficial, back in 2016, and has now amassed more than 80,000 followers.

Miss Duquemin’s first viral video, posted in April, was aimed to let victims of domestic violence know that they are not alone.

Her second video was viewed over 870,000 times, and led to an influx of messages into Miss Duquemin’s inbox.

‘At the start I was completely in shock,’ she said.

‘My first video was sort of my own cry for help. I am someone that has been through domestic violence myself.’

Miss Duquemin said she was only 17 when she first experienced domestic violence.

‘At the time I didn’t know that was what was happening to me,’ she said.

‘I didn’t have any help or anyone to reach out to, so I want to be that help for other people.’

Miss Duquemin said she has since received more than 100 messages from people who have been through, or are going through, similar situations.

‘I have had messages from men and women from all over the world.

‘I know how hard it is to open up about this sort of stuff, especially for men.

‘It breaks my heart to see what other people are going through but now I know I can do something.

‘It’s important for people to know that they’re not alone.’

Miss Duquemin said she did not expect the response she got, and is doing her best to try and get through all of the messages to help as many people as she can.

‘I didn’t realise how many people have been touched by it.

‘I sit and talk through it with them.

‘I have had people tell me that if it weren’t for me, they couldn’t have got through it.’

She said she even talked one woman through taking her abuser to court, and win her battle against domestic violence.

‘I love being able to help other people,’ she said.
