The Vale Earth Fair Collective is a group of volunteers who give up their free time to organise the annual Vale Earth Fair live music festival, which will be taking place on 28 August this year.

The Vale Earth Fair is the Channel Islands’ longest- running music and arts festival and attracts acts from across the Channel Islands as well as the UK.

They were put forward by Tim Barnes, who said: ‘The fair gets better every year.

‘The collective show how Guernsey should be run.’

The annual fair started in 1976 and will be celebrating its 46th anniversary this year.

Profits from the festival are donated to humanitarian causes and this year will be passed on to Free Tibet, Burma Campaign UK and Bridge 2 Haiti.

The collective uses biodegradable products, recycles everything that can be, and uses local suppliers.
