And islanders will have a chance to see the plans and ask questions at a special drop-in. The Guernsey Housing Association is in the process of drawing up the plans for 130 homes off Saltpans.

GHA development manager Phil Roussel said the drop-in would be held on Saturday 10 September, with the planning application submitted at about the same time.

‘We want to keep people informed,’ he said.

‘It will also not be too late to make alterations.’

The drop-in will include a 3D walkthrough video, as well as a chance to ask questions.

Mr Roussel said they had done a similar drop-in when the Fontaine Vinery plans were put in and that had helped alleviate parishioners’ worries as they could see what the project would look like and ask questions.

The GHA will be meeting with St Sampson’s and Vale parish officials ahead of the drop-in to get their feedback. It has also commissioned a mobility plan by specialist WSP, which will cover the areas north of St Peter Port. Mr Roussel said this would also help with other large-scale housing developments.

As well as Fontaine and Kenilworth, the GHA will also be developing the Data Park site in the future. But Mr Roussel said that was likely to be several years down the road as a development framework had not yet been drawn up for the site.

The drop-in will be held between 10am and noon on Saturday 10 September at Rock Community Church in New Road.
