The Guernsey Post team took it in turns to cut off 17 sections of Tyler Ferbrache’s hair which had been sold in a raffle.

‘Towards the start of the week I was really nervous, but today I’ve just felt really excited,’ she said.

‘The amount of donations and generosity I’ve received has just been unbelievable and so that really spurred me on.’

Husband Ben and mum Tracy Thorne also cut off sections of Mrs Ferbrache’s hair.

She and her mum shared an emotional moment during the hair cut.

With her hair getting shorter by the minute, Tyler was able to raise a smile. (31191301)

‘My mum is the reason I’m doing this and for everyone else who has cancer,’ she said.

‘People keep telling me I’m brave, but I don’t feel brave. The people who are receiving treatment are the brave ones.’

After the clippers had finished, Mrs Ferbrache said that her new hair style felt very light. She said she would have to get used to not running her fingers through her hair.

All money raised will be donated to the Guernsey Society for Cancer Relief, working closely with the Bulstrode Oncology Unit, and providing assistance for cancer patients and their families when added financial burdens are beyond their capabilities.
