Public holiday in Guernsey for Queen's funeral

GUERNSEY will have a public holiday on the day of the Queen's funeral.

Members of the public have been laying flowers in the Sunken Gardens in memory of HRH Queen Elizabeth II who died on Thursday aged 96. (31254437)

A States of Guernsey spokesman said: 'Following the confirmation by His Majesty King Charles III that there will be a public holiday in the UK on the day of the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, we can confirm that there will be a public holiday in Guernsey on the same day.'

The Queen died on Thursday in Scotland. The funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey on Monday 19th September.
