And, to celebrate Guernsey hosting the Island Games, the theme for this year’s floral section is This Sporting Life.

As well as adult classes there are classes designed for children, youths, novices and several classes are open to all.

Floral section officer Linda Armstead said there were lots of sporting areas entrants could use for inspiration.

‘The Olympic rings, Island Games 2023, the skate park and water sports are some of the specific titles competitors can choose from,’ she said.

The Exhibition of Arts & Crafts is open to everyone living in the Bailiwick and includes photography, cake making, silk painting, crochet, model making, needlework and floral displays and more.

Full details of classes, themes and entry forms are available on the Eisteddfod Facebook page or at www.guernseyeisteddfod.com

Entry booklets are available from Creasey’s, St Peter’s Post Office, Lexicon, Shoestring on the Bridge and the Guille-Alles Library.

Entrants can register at the Grammar School (Social Area 7) between 10am and 12.30pm on Saturday 28 January.

Only entries for the photography section need to be submitted on the day.

Floral displays can be created at home and brought to Beau Sejour on 20 or 21 March ahead of adjudication.

Other entries can be taken to Beau Sejour for the opening of the 2023 Exhibition between 22 and 25 March.
