The hotel features 22 apartments, ranging from five-bedroom suites to studios and has been owned by V-Bay Holdings since 2005 with the owner now looking to ‘explore other opportunities’.

It is being sold as a going concern by Savills estate agents, whose director Terry Gardiner said the owner has been encouraged that booking levels are good in the wake of the pandemic.

Like many businesses it was a difficult and challenging time for the operator and even after the borders reopened, staff were slow to return.

‘The owner of Waves, alongside many other businesses in Guernsey, has had to work exceptionally hard to cover these staffing shortages,’ said Mr Gardiner.

‘While there has been a very good level of demand from tourists visiting Guernsey, the approach adopted by local operators appears to have been a very sensible one, taking on as many bookings that can be managed and serviced well, rather than offering a reduced service to tourists.

‘Hopefully this has reflected well on our tourism sector.’

After starting life as a traditional hotel, since taking it on the owner has invested heavily in the business and Mr Gardiner said it had taken a ‘very hands-on approach, which is evident when viewing the apartments’.

Modern, timber-clad cottages have been added behind the main building, providing five studios and two three-bed cottages, which he said are very popular with guests.

Mr Gardiner said the property has had a good number of viewings and inquiries since it went on the market.
