Big acts lined up for West Show centenary
SOME big entertainment will be featuring at the 100th West Show later this year, according to committee president Mark Le Prevost.
The show committee held its AGM recently with this summer’s event on the agenda.
The line-up for the show’s centenary on 16 and 17 August will continue to showcase local talent, but will also see the return of popular events, such as lawnmower racing. There will also be live music on both evenings in the beer tent.
The show will also include UK-based performers, and Mr Le Prevost is confident they will be a hit with punters. But they are being kept under wraps for now.
‘They are some of the UK’s biggest and best acts, and we’re certain the Guernsey public will be delighted we have secured them,’ he said.
Mr Le Prevost added that the show had seen an increase of entry numbers in its agricultural classes over the last two years, and he hoped to see even more this year for the100th edition.
Further details of what to expect will be released closer to the show.
