PC Lyndsey Bell has visited more than 20 pre-schools in recent months after the groups were invited to get in touch if they would like a visit.

As well as talking about road safety and police work, she has read the children police-related stories and given them the chance to see police vehicles.

A spokesman for the police said the visits had been ‘incredibly positive’.

‘All of the setting staff have been very welcoming, and we hope to be able to make similar visits again the future,’ he said.

Samantha Martin said the children she looks after at Little Cottage Daycare were excited when they heard a police officer was going to visit.

‘Lyndsey’s professionalism and interaction with the children and staff were amazing from the moment she arrived, and she really engaged with all the children throughout the visit,’ said Mrs Martin.

‘Lyndsey also very kindly allowed the children to say good morning to the Guernsey Police headquarters and they even got a response back which the children were very happy about.

'We can’t thank her enough forgiving up her time to come and visit us.’

The children interacted well with her and the visit fitted in with the pre-school’s ‘people who helped us’ topic.

Jacqui Nicolle-Butcher, who runs Pre-school Duval, said the children were always excited when ‘PC Lyndsey’ paid a visit.

‘She has a great rapport with them, and they love listening to all the information she gives including the stories and activities she shares,’ said Mrs Nicolle-Butcher.

‘We always have a giggle too when the children respond with their own imaginative safety tales. They absorb all the information and talk happily about it afterwards.’

n If any other pre-school would like to arrange a visit they should email either the neighbourhood policing team at NPT@guernsey.pnn.police.uk or PC Bell at Lyndsey.Bell@Guernsey.pnn.police.uk.
