A national consultation found that life is different following the pandemic, leading the Scout Association to recognise the need to adapt to a post-pandemic world.

It has accepted the need to make volunteering easier for new and existing adult volunteers by attracting new volunteering members, making the role more adaptable, flexible and less demanding.

By having more volunteers, the pressure will be eased on existing teams, and the association will have the capacity to roll out its skills for life strategy to more young people. The initiative is being led by the scouting movement nationally, but Guernsey is taking a prominent role as an early adopter and will be implementing changes in the months ahead.
