Tributes paid to Jurat Mike Tanguy MBE

Jurat Mike Tanguy MBE held a number of posts with local charities and organisations and was chairman of Les Bourgs Hospice for 16 years, until he stepped down in 2018. (32041910)

He was appointed as a jurat in about 2001 and was awarded the MBE for his public and voluntary services to Guernsey in the 2013 New Year’s Honours List.

He has held a number of posts with local charities and organisations and was chairman of Les Bourgs Hospice for 16 years, until he stepped down in 2018.

Hospice director Jo Boyd said she was honoured to have known him.

‘It is with great sadness we are announcing the sudden death of our previous chairman of many years, Jurat Michael Tanguy MBE,’ said Mrs Boyd.

‘We all send our deepest condolences to his wife Elizabeth and family.

‘The hospice owes an enormous debt of gratitude to Mike for all his hard work, commitment and enthusiasm helping us to achieve what we have today and is a very fitting legacy to him.’
