The Lt-Governor and Bailiff were there to represent the islands and see its new Duke of Normandy crowned.

‘It was a privilege to represent the Bailiwick along with the Bailiff at the Coronation of Their Majesties on Saturday,’ said Lt General Richard Cripwell.

‘To be in Westminster for such a momentous occasion was very special indeed and although I have since seen, and read, some of the commentary it is difficult to capture the emotion and expectation that there was in the Abbey.’

Bailiff Richard McMahon said it had been an honour and privilege to represent the Bailiwick at such a momentous occasion.

‘It was humbling to be there, when you realise the significance of the occasion,’ he said. ‘The pageantry was wonderful. There were points in the service, like the actual moment King Charles was crowned, where the hair on my neck literally stood up.’

The island was represented among the uniformed organisations in London, while locally there were formal and social events held.
