National Trust vice-president Sara-Jane Lampitt was thankful for the light breeze and warm temperatures that greeted islanders arriving at Saumarez Park for the trust’s annual celebration of Guernsey’s heritage.
‘It’s quite a relief it’s not blazing hot,’ she said.
‘It made set-up much easier than last year’s heatwave. Everyone’s in a great mood and preparations have gone really well.’
Visitors were treated to more than 54 stallholders, tractors and entertainment from the Button Pushers, GU10 and the traditional Guernsey dancers for a popular evening.
