A HOUSE near the Bridge could be demolished to make way for a clos of six houses, if planning permission is granted.

A planning application has been submitted to demolish the green house on the left and build six houses on the site. (32324044)

The plan is to demolish the existing house, Demie Shard on Rue De La Mare, as well as a garage and swimming pool.

The site is to the west of the Bridge, south of Nocq Road.

This clearance work will make way for three two-bed homes and three three-bed homes.

This would be broken up into a pair of semi-detached homes, a terrace of three houses, and one detached property, of a mix of two and three storeys.

The houses would have red brick feature chimneys, blue/black slate roofs and solar panels, as well a render finish.

In the planning application, Matt de Garis from Matt’s Architectural Technology, said it had designed the new properties to fit in with the surroundings.

‘The new proposal will tidy up the derelict and overgrown site, which will enhance the character of St Sampson’s,' he said in the application.

The proposal takes into consideration the need for minimal overlooking or overshadowing or neighbouring properties and amenity spaces.

The site sits within the St Sampson's main centre boundary, which is one of the areas where the Island Development Plan directs new housing to go.
