Where do prisoners go next?

PEOPLE are leaving prison and being forced to ‘live’ in bunkers and cars because they do not have other options, the prison has warned.

In its annual report, prison governor John de Carteret said this was a repeated issue which various States departments were now working together to try to address.

Recidivist criminals were sometimes attracted to petty crime to get picked up again and find themselves back in custody, he said.
