Clos of nine houses planned to run parallel to Rue du Friquet

A NEW clos of nine houses could be built close to the L’Aumone/Rectory Hill traffic lights, if planning permission is granted.

The application by well-established local developer Infinity Construction relates to gardens behind L’Aumone House, which sits directly on the corner of the junction.

Access to the clos would be through a single drive next to the end of the garden of the bungalow Petit Lande on Rue du Friquet.

Running parallel to Rue du Friquet would be six, three-bed semi-detached houses, which would back on to the Maison L’Aumone residential home site. These would be two-and-a-half storeys and each would have private parking and gardens.

The road would then turn 90 degrees, and by that corner would be a three-bedroom, detached house, of one-and-a-half storeys.

At the end of the clos would be two, two-bedroom semi-detached dwellings, each 1.5 storeys high.

The existing main house at the front of the site would also be kept.

A development framework for the site was drawn up last year, with the planners suggesting that between eight and 13 homes could be built on this section of land.

‘We feel that the phase one development scheme has made efficient and effective use of the land to the rear of L’Aumone House, without compromising further phases within the frameworked sites,’ construction design coordinator Steve Woods in the planning application.

The site lies within the L’Aumone local centre – one of the areas where new housing can be built.

The development framework also had a further section of land behind the house Bru’s Retraite, but this is on a separate land parcel and is not included in this application.
