Delimited sponsors Guernsey Film Festival for three years
GUERNSEY Film Fest has secured a three-year sponsorship agreement with Delimited to give the festival a foothold in the island’s art scene.
More than 25 films are expected to be screened over the course of the weekend of Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 October at The Mallard Cinema.
‘We feel very strongly that the festival should be entirely free to the public and this support will help us continue to achieve that goal,’ said Lars Janssen, one of the event’s organisers, alongside Charlotte Dawn Potter.
‘Having a longer-term commitment to the sponsorship arrangement also gives the event a secure footing into the future and we are looking forward to working with the Delimited team.’
The festival, which is in its second year, is open to the public free of charge and will feature a range of international and local films and documentaries.
This year the main theme of the festival is folklore.
The opening film is set to be Nightsiren, a Slovakian folk horror film, directed by Tereza Nvotova.
‘All of the Delimited team are big film fans and we were keen to support something within the local arts scene so when we were approached last year for some last-minute assistance we were very happy to help,’ said Delimited’s managing director, Justin Guilbert.
‘The three-year agreement will enable us to work with Lars and Dawn to develop the event into an even bigger festival over time.
'They both work incredibly hard and we know that they will deliver a high quality, professional festival.’
Filmmakers are able to submit their work for potential screening until tomorrow.
