It will take off at 11am with an array of aircraft, including the Battle of Britain memorial flyover and the Royal Air Force’s Red Arrows, who return to Guernsey skies after having to cancel their performance last year after suffering a last-minute technical problem.

This year the Titans are in the display for the first time giving a performance of close formation aerobatics, and Team Raven and the North Wings Seafire return to the display after an absence since the start of the pandemic.

The line-up for this year’s display also includes performances from the Jet Pitts, the OV-10 Bronco display team and the P8 Poseidon operated by ‘Guernsey’s Own’ 201 Squadron from RAF Lossiemouth.

‘We are confident plans are in place,’ said flying display director Barry Neal. ‘We put a lot of hard work into this event so hope it all goes to plan.’

The planes are arriving in Guernsey today and with the plans all going well, the only thing the event organisers need to think about now is the weather.

‘It all depends on the weather, so hopefully it holds up like it is expected to,’ said Mr Neal.

The Guernsey Met office said tomorrow should be a generally calm day with sunny spells and just a small chance of showers and light winds from the north-west – nothing that is likely to cause any disruption to the display.

Today there is a chance to meet the pilots between 2-5pm on the East Apron at the airport.
