weekend.

Teams from the Guernsey Street Festival, HSBC and Ravenscroft worked on Saturday and Sunday, making use of ladders and a ‘cherry picker’ – or elevated work platform – to reach the bunting.

Guernsey Street Festival team member Andrew Pouteaux said the teams started in Mill Street.

‘We went from there to Smith Street between 8am and 3pm yesterday [Saturday], and today [Sunday] we will be going from 8am to 6pm and doing the bunting in the Pollet all the way to Town Church.

‘It was put up around Easter time – and it was certainly a lot easier to put up than take down.’

HSBC team member Peter Turner was thankful for the sunny weather.

‘Last year it poured with rain,’ he said.

Ravenscroft team member Katrina Bray said the company had provided the bunting five years ago.

‘It adds vibrancy to Town and I think the whole island benefits,’

she said.
