We will not resign, says P&R as no confidence vote looms

Its members met this morning and agreed unanimously to remain in office ahead of an expected motion of no confidence debate.

'We've given careful consideration to what is the right and responsible thing to do, noting the feedback we have had from States colleagues and members of the community,' said P&R president Peter Ferbrache.

On Friday, the Assembly rejected P&R's flagship tax, borrowing and spending plan for the second time this year. The committee immediately called for a general election next year instead of in 2025.

Deputy Ferbrache said his committee accepted the States' decisions and had a duty to continue trying to improve the island's financial position while overseeing a list of capital projects approved as part of last week's debate.
