This follows the successful first event last year when hundreds of children and adults donned scary costumes. Organisers are hoping that people will dress up again to make it another special evening.

‘Town Trick or Treat is an event that we love hosting,’ said founding trustee Jenny Le Prevost.

‘It is aimed at making Halloween easier for parents and ensuring children get the opportunity to trick or treat in a safe environment.

‘Last year was amazing and we anticipate that this year will be just as good.’

She said the charity was grateful to JTC for its sponsorship of the evening.

More than 30 retail outlets have already committed to helping make the evening a fun one.

‘We have over 36 outlets this year, a lot of whom will be dressing up more to make the event more fun,’ said Mrs Le Prevost.

The foundation has put plans in place to ensure a better distribution of treats as well this year, with each outlet only giving one sweet per child.

‘To make the event better we have purchased 250kg of sweets compared to the 100kg we had last year,’ said Mrs Le Prevost.

This event has been tweaked this year to increase the safety of those taking part.

‘We have traffic wardens at the main car parks to help ease any traffic congestion there may be and they will be on duty until 7pm,’ said Mrs Le Prevost.

Smile for Georgie has also arranged for Church Square to be closed to traffic during the event.

Island Waste has also been informed of the event which takes place tomorrow between 5.30 and 6.30pm.
