Tristan Brown will run with Sinfield in Brighton tomorrow when he undertakes day six of the ‘7 in 7 in 7’ challenge, which will see him run an ultra-marathon every day for seven days in seven cities with a fundraising target of £777,777.

Ravenscroft, where Mr Brown is head of finance, has supported Sinfield’s challenges through the rugby star’s friendship with its CEO Jon Ravenscroft.

‘I was cheekily mid-email to Jon to see if I could take part, when he rang me to offer me the opportunity,’ said Mr Brown.

‘Kevin is an absolute inspiration, to raise in excess of £8m. and to see how he brings hope to the MND community, he’s just a complete hero.’

Mr Brown completed an ironman challenge in Barcelona in September and is training for the 2024 London Marathon, so is not too worried about keeping up.

‘I should be fine with the speed, hopefully we will be running at conversational place so I can get the chance to chat to him,’ he said.

‘It is clear how devastating a disease MND is and how vital the money raised is to the charities who are supporting and caring for people affected and investing in research to bring us closer to effective treatment and a cure.’

Sinfield, who is now an England Rugby Union coach, intends to complete each run in under four hours.

‘It’s fantastic that Tristan can join us and strengthen that link between the challenge and Ravenscroft as a sponsor,’ he said.

‘Physically this will be my toughest challenge as I have not been able to do the training that I have done previously because of my commitments for the World Cup.

‘I am looking forward to it and seeing all the support out on the streets once again.’

The challenge begun in Leeds on Friday, before visiting Birmingham, Edinburgh, Dublin and Brighton, and finishing in London on Thursday.

Each run will be a marathon with an extra mile added, to signify the extra mile people can all go to help their friends in tough times, and after running in Brighton, Mr Brown is planning to be in London to see Sinfield run the final mile down the Mall.
