Chemical Seasters smash it with 12 Bays of Christmas postings
FOUR swimmers have taken an annual challenge to the next level by creating festive scenes to document their December and in doing so hoping to raise money for Les Bourgs Hospice.
The Chemical Seasters have put plenty of thought into their 12 Bays of Christmas challenge, bringing along props and recreating scenes to take pictures before their dips.
‘We know each other through some of us having our babies at the same time and others through our love of swimming,’ said Angelique McConnell.
‘We did it in different groups last year so we thought we’d all come together this year.’
The mutual favourite theme among the group was a human Christmas tree, where they all posed covered in lights.
Other themes have been the tractor run and also Silent Night.
‘We’ve just really enjoyed having one big celebration of our little swimming community and our friendship,’ said Ms McConnell.
‘When we post the pictures we take on the Guernsey Swim All Seasons Facebook group we get so many lovely comments of people telling us to make a calendar, that we are absolutely smashing it, and people say that they really like seeing our posts.
‘Others have said seeing us swim has made them want to swim more too.’
Grandes Rocques was the group’s penultimate swim of the challenge, and they created a candy cane forest image, bringing along wooden candy canes which they stuck into the sand.
Their final swim was planned to be the Boxing Day swim at Cobo.
