Walk chairman Simon Milsted said it was proud to be supporting so many wonderful local charities this year.

‘We have the difficult task of deciding which charities will benefit each year, but we are confident in our selection,’ he said.

‘The continued financial support and commitment of our sponsor, Saffery Trust, ensures that all of the money raised by our walkers and those who sponsor them will be available to benefit these local charities.’

The selection represents a diverse range of charity sectors across the island, such as healthcare, sport, social care, arts, and leisure.

Last year more than £100,000 was distributed to 25 different charities and not-for-profit organisations.

Mr Milsted added that the walk hoped to achieve another record-breaking year.

‘Both through the number of sign-ups and money raised,’ he said.

An early bird discounted rate of £32 is still available for those who register for the walk now.

'Do not hesitate,' Mr Milsted said.

The annual event, now in its 26th year, takes place on Saturday 8 June. The 39-mile trek around the entire coast of Guernsey sets off at 4.30am.

More than 150 individuals and more than five relay teams have already taken advantage of the discounted rate.

Saffery Trust director Lisa Vizia said the company's continued sponsorship of the walk was very important.

‘We take this responsibility very seriously,’s she said.

‘The annual walk reflects our core values and this contribution to wider island life is a big priority to us.

‘The 21 chosen charities are so deserving, and the Guernsey community will benefit immensely from the money raised by this fantastic event.

‘We encourage you to sign up now to play your part in making a real difference to so many charities.’

Registration is open for individuals and relay teams, with details about the family walk due to be released later in the year.
