The charity’s annual campaign, which aims to raise awareness of bowel cancer, will take place on Friday [26 January]. Donations made to Bowel Cancer Guernsey will contribute directly to supporting the charity’s work in the community.

To show support the charity is asking people to wear their brightest neckwear to work, school or within the community.

‘Loud Tie Day is a fun but powerful community event, serving as a poignant reminder that bowel cancer can affect anyone’, said Anne Brouard, chairwoman of Bowel Cancer Guernsey.

‘The campaign serves as a vital platform to promote awareness and understanding of the disease.

‘Our aim is to equip islanders with this knowledge, with the hope that it will lead to early diagnosis and treatment. Here at Bowel Cancer Guernsey, we express our gratitude to everyone who gets involved with this event and recognises its potential to have a life-saving impact. We can’t wait to see everyone’s creative neckwear again this year.’

On Loud Tie Day the Bowel Cancer Guernsey team will be at Liberation Monument between 7.30 and 9.30am to host a Fibre Friday Porridge Giveaway.

Local website design company Submarine has supported the charity in recent years.

‘We were proud to support Bowel Cancer Guernsey with the revamp of their website last year and further our support with Loud Tie Day. It’s a charity close to our hearts and the work they do in the community is invaluable. We hope everyone gets involved. If anything, it’s a fun Friday attire,’ said Donovan Lowe, director at Submarine.
