Matt Loaring’s close range finish gave Guernsey the lead against the run of play late in the first half, but Jersey equalised within 60 seconds.

Jersey centre back Luke Campbell, later named man of the match, headed Jersey into the lead in the second half and it looked like that might seal the win, before substitute Will Fazakerley scored a spectacular equaliser in the third minute of injury time to force an extra 30 minutes.

Guernsey rather faded in the extra half hour and Jersey striker Lorne Bickley sealed the game when he poached a close-range goal after Josh Addison had made a fine save from a Luke Watson header.
