Andrew Le Lievre, who spent more than three decades specialising in social welfare, fears that plans to build nearly 1,000 social housing units over the next few years will lead to the creation of large developments similar to the Grand Bouet Estate, which suffered high levels of deprivation before being pulled down 15 years ago.
