Usually taking place in June, the annual display follows an actual wedding taking place at the parish church days prior.

Organiser Diana Arundale said that the theme would follow a blue, yellow and white colour palette.

‘One of the churchwarden’s daughters is getting married here and so we thought it would be nice to make sure it is nice and pretty,’ she said.

‘We have a good team of arrangers and the church is looking stunning. We want to show off our talent at the church but also want the community to admire it.

‘The festival starts today and everybody is welcome to come and enjoy tea or coffee and cake for a small donation.

‘On Tuesday we will be having a tea party with five care homes bringing 40 residents, and we will have the Lt-Governor and his wife here.’

She said that today and Wednesday, between 11am and 4pm, people will be on hand to greet visitors, and that there would be a donation pot for anybody who would like to help contribute towards the running of the church’s activities.

‘We just want people to enjoy this celebration of flowers,’ said Mrs Arundale.
