Juliette Broad and Lillia Bolger, both 12, rescued the woman after she got into difficulty while swimming at Havelet Bay earlier in August.

Manor Farm Foods, the Liberation Group and Creasey’s joined Christies in providing gifts and vouchers for their efforts which the companies described as heroic.

‘These young girls have shown incredible courage and presence of mind in a situation where every second counted,’ said Christies Group managing director Christophe Gaultier.

‘It is only fitting that we recognise their bravery, and these vouchers are a token of our gratitude.’
