The last rally took place in 2023, where more than 30 cars from Guernsey, Jersey and the UK took part in the two-day show-down.

The 2025 rally dates have been announced as Friday 28 February and Saturday 1 March.

The 2024 event was denied approval by Environment & Infrastructure when it announced a ban on events requiring multiple road closures.

‘Everything has been passed by Traffic, so we’ve now got to do the PR and consolidate and relay that information,’ said rally chairman Karl Marshall.

‘We’ve done everything we can. We can’t help it if people protest, although we’ve received feedback already, but it’s been good so far.’

The annual motorsport event started in 2018 and has always had its critics.

The backlash to the event peaked in 2023, which included the cancellation of a section in Torteval when a resident tried to lie down in the road in front of the cars, and the Felconte stages were vandalised.

‘I’ve lived here for 30 years. You buy a house near a road but you don’t expect it to be used for rally cars,’ said one Vale resident who has been alerted that his property is along one of the routes.

‘That being said, it’s only for one weekend every couple of years. It’s not too bad.’

Another resident, who lives near Port Grat, was in full support of the rally.

‘I think it’s great, I’m from a family who really enjoys watching motorsport and there’s not too many opportunities for large events like this in Guernsey,’ she said.

‘It’s great that we’ll be so close to a route next year.’

Mr Marshall said that entries for the rally will open in the autumn, following the Jersey rally in October.
