The parish’s floral team has installed three frames, similar to those used on the Renoir Walk, for parishioners and visitors to take pictures through.

Floral group organiser Liz Pirouet-Douglas said they had taken inspiration from the famous French impressionist, who had painted at Moulin Huet.

‘We are not sure if Renoir ever actually visited St Saviour’s,’ she said.

‘But he has inspired us, none the less.’

The wooden frames, which have been made by islanders on community service, are at the St Saviour’s Community Centre’s garden.

Entrants are asked to take a picture of the lovely views they see through the frame and post them on the Floral St Saviour’s Facebook page or email them to Floralstsaviourgroup@gmail.com.

‘You can see some typical St Saviour’s landscapes from the frames, and as autumn comes some moody skies,’ said Mrs Pirouet-Douglas.

‘We are happy for people to be in the pictures or even for them to paint or draw a picture, whatever inspires them.’

There will be prizes for the top five entries and also prizes for young people.

The competition closes 1 November 2024.

Entries will be judged by St Saviour’s constable and douzenier Paul Connolly.
