The free, six-hour event will have speakers giving practical information on working in the non-profit sector, and is an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals to share ideas or discuss collaboration opportunities.

Joe Saxton, the chairman of the Association of Chairs, is a keynote speaker at the event. He has founded two charities and has been chairman of another six.

He has worked with more than 200 charities and was named one of the most influential people in voluntary sector communications.

After the speeches there will be a number of breakout sessions with attendees able to choose from a variety of different topics.

They will be able to discuss changing technology, corporate funding streams, grant applications, diversity, motivational leadership and the consideration of whether gala dinners are worth their while.

AGC chair Wayne Bulpitt said that the aim of the conference was to support all people who were working hard to make Guernsey an even better place.

‘The event will offer a dynamic mix of engaging panels, workshops and networking opportunities, all focused on improving the impact of charities.

‘From enhancing fundraising strategies to building strong community partnerships, the conference is tailored to meet the specific needs of charities and non-profit organisations.’

He said that the event was open to all charities regardless of their size or sector.

‘It’s exciting to offer a platform that brings fresh perspectives and fosters collaboration within our amazing non-profit community.

‘We hope to inspire and empower our attendees.

‘There are so many highly-rated speakers that some sessions are running concurrently. Therefore, charities may want to have more than just one representative, to ensure they get the most out of it.

‘We’re encouraging people to register early through our website.'

The event will take place at Les Beaucamps High School on Saturday 12 October, between 9am and 3.15pm.
