The Smile for Georgie Foundation is running the annual trick-or-treat event for a third year.

There are 42 shops taking part as trick-or-treat stops and the hundreds of kilos of sweets will be divided between the locations.

‘If each child takes one sweet from each shop, that’s 42 sweets by the end of the night,’ said Smile for Georgie trustee Andre Le Prevost.

Last year the event saw about 3,500 people taking part and this year it is hoped it will prove just as popular.

The last two years have suffered from very bad weather, but this Thursday it is expected to be dry and clear, and even relatively warm.

Children, adults and shop keepers are all being encouraged to dress up, but there is no obligation to do so.

Smile for Georgie Foundation’s trick or treat is aiming to make islanders happier.

‘It’s what we do, we’re a charity that makes people smile,’ said Mr Le Prevost.

The event will take place across Town. It will start at 5.30pm and continue until 6.30pm on Thursday.

n A trick or treat map has proved to be a great success. The map was set up by a local mum, with the aim of letting islanders know which homes and businesses would welcome trick or treaters this Halloween. More than 400 sites have signed up so far.
