Frances Heaume and Ben Newell came up with the concept, one of four entries shortlisted for the award. They won £3,000 to purse their project. The next stage will be to build a website.

‘The idea is to build a really accessible, hopefully digital, resource that reflects the needs of the ADHD community,’ said Miss Heaume.

Mr Newell added: ‘We’re really happy about winning, Frances came up with an excellent idea and it’s been well received.’

The runner-up award of £1,500 was given to Victoria Wiskin for her child growth and development MECSH programme.

MECSH, Maternal Early Childhood Sustained Home Visiting, aims to help parents learn effective communication and play techniques with their babies, encouraging engagement in the child’s growth and development.

The course lasts two years and 48 families are currently enrolled on the programme.

‘I’m overjoyed, it’s such a privilege to get the recognition that this is actually really important,’ said Mrs Wiskin.

Insurance Corporation has backed the Health & Social Care Bursary award for more than 30 years. Anyone working locally within Health & Social Care can submit ideas for projects designed to improve health and social care in the Bailiwick.

‘The bursary is the only awards scheme promoting and celebrating health and wellbeing in the Bailiwick,’ said Insurance Corporation HR and PR executive Michelle Steele.
