The new instant prize-only game Christmas Extravaganza is almost sold out and has proved extremely popular.

‘Sales of the traditional £2 tickets for the main lottery are slightly down on last year, but we are confident we will close in on the £500,000 first-prize mark in the final few weeks before the draw,’ said senior lottery officer Jon Taylor.

This year’s draw will take place in Guernsey on Thursday 19 December.

As well as the main prize, there will be 66 other prizes, from £500 to £50,000.

‘The new Extravaganza game has proved very popular, which is great news for the many worthy causes across the Channel Islands that benefit from all of the lottery games,’ said Guernsey Post lottery manager Jack Hobbs.

‘In 2023 alone it raised £2.5m. in the Channel Islands for charities, some of which provide essential health and wellbeing services to our community.’

All proceeds from the Christmas Lottery are distributed to worthy causes through the Social Investment Fund in Guernsey and the Jersey Community Foundation and Association of Jersey Charities in Jersey.

‘The Christmas Lottery games help many essential charities with funding,’ said SIF chairman, the Dean of Guernsey Tim Barker.

‘I encourage registered charities across the Channel Islands to consider applying for funding in 2025, as we are keen to support a broad range of worthy causes.’

Distributor Guernsey Post is providing a dedicated service for islanders looking to buy a block of tickets as part of a syndicate.
