The annual competition sees trophies awarded to the best themed facade in town, and one out-of-town retailer.

The competition is judged by an independent panel, with this year’s comprising of Chamber of Commerce executive director Alice Gill, Ava Inder from Art for Guernsey and BBC Guernsey’s Steph Watkins.

The panel was unanimous in its selections.

‘We were absolutely thrilled once again to see the incredible quality of the window displays and the festive spirit embraced by so many retailers,’ they said.

‘With Christmas as the theme, the possibilities were endless and the variety of designs showcased remarkable creativity, energy, and thought.’

The competition is judged on overall impact, style and flair, as well as how displays captivated and drew shoppers into each retailer.

‘This competition is popular with retailers and presents a great opportunity for entrants to add to the festive feel in the run up to Christmas,’ said Guernsey Retail Group chairman Jonathan Creasey.

‘As we see every year, the entries were of an exceptionally high standard.

'Dix Neuf captivated passers-by with a magical, bright, and festive shopfront that was also warm and inviting.

'Meanwhile, Forest Road Garage delivered a display that truly had a “wow” factor, especially when viewed at night.’

Forest Road Garage managing director Rob Cornelius said that he was really pleased that the garage had been chosen as one of this year’s winners.

‘Lydia [of Little Letters] and Flick [of Purple Peacock Art] had done a very original festive theme,’ he said.

‘It really does stand out.’

‘I think it’s great, it’s such a fun thing,’ said Dix Neuf manager Karl Jein, speaking about the competition.

‘Kids loved the window.’

Commendations were also bestowed on The Bean Jar in the Arcade for an original, stylish display, and to Cadeaux in Church Square, for its Guernsey adaptation of the 12 Days of Christmas.
