The local charity aims to increase awareness of bowel cancer and to continue raising vital funds to aid its crucial work within the community through this annual initiative.

People are encouraged to show their support with their brightest neckwear for the day.

The charity has also organised a ‘Fibre Friday’ porridge giveaway at the Liberation Monument from 7.30am on Friday.

‘Loud Tie Day highlights the importance of understanding bowel cancer and its impact. By raising awareness, we hope more people will recognise the symptoms and seek help early, which can make a real difference. We’re grateful to everyone supporting the campaign,’ said Bowel Cancer Guernsey chairwoman Anne Brouard.

Oak Group is the charity’s major sponsor for the events.

‘We are proud to support Loud Tie Day and help raise awareness about bowel cancer,’ said chief people officer Anna Sauvarin.

‘Initiatives like this play a vital role in encouraging conversations around early detection and prevention. It’s inspiring to see the community come together, and we’re excited to contribute to such an impactful cause.’
