The bus collided with a van on the road in Castel just before 5pm.

All three emergency services were called to the incident, with the road closed for over an hour.

PC Dave Duport said the route 61 bus – which had been carrying five passengers as well as the driver – had been travelling northwards along Rue des Deslisles and was about 100m from the traffic lights at the junction with Mont D’Aval when it collided with the van, which had been travelling in the opposite direction.

Those involved in the incident were treated by St John Ambulance staff for minor injuries at the scene.

Two of the bus passengers were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

Extensive front end damage was sustained to both vehicles.
