Freedom 80: The girl in the picture

On 9 May 1945, when she was just shy of six years old, Margaret Courtenay – now Le Cocq – was photographed walking along St Peter Port seafront ahead of Guernsey’s liberators. Sixty years later, an appeal was made for ‘the girl in the photo’ to come forward. Now, she finally has.
