Sandpiper CI – the company that manages the Iceland franchise – has unveiled the details of its proposal to open a 4,000sq. ft store using four bays at the island's Crusher site. The venture would see Sandpiper invest £300,000.

But they have advised the States of Alderney that it will be possible only if they were able to model the store on the UK, Guernsey and Jersey versions, which also sell alcohol.
