THE Hotel Bon Port is best known for two things in Guernsey.

The fantastic views over the south coast cliffs, and the narrow, twisting lane which separates the remote hotel from mainstream St Martin's.

It is a stretch of tarmac the hotel's management duo of general manager Shaun McDonald and finance director Claire-Louise Gorman are trying hard to overcome.

'It's just a little lane,' said Mr McDonald. 'But locals think we're on the other side of the world, unfortunately.

'It means that we really have to fight for business and try to create something you cannot get anywhere else.
